Amani Live – Sunday Grooves Under The Baobab

Posted: May 16, 2016 in performances

Cafe con LecheManchester’s hottest Cuban band Cafe Con Leche will be playing salsa, son, cha cha cha, and a selection of songs linking their music back to its African roots.

Imani Jendai mixes tap with more current styles, such as hip-hop, rhymes of rap and the complex mechanics of beat box, reinventing tap as a new powerful means of non-verbal communication, not just as entertainment but as a way of expressing emotions and as a medium for storytelling.

The second in a series of eight monthly events with contemporary live African music, dance and spoken word brought to you by Amani Creatives in partnership with Brighter Sound and Community Arts North West.
Doors open at 4pm – Event starts at 4.30pm
Entry £5 – Under 12’s
